Sorry that while China suffered from an earthquake and Myanmar (Burma) from that cyclone, I didn't respond of my well-being or news from the neighboring countries. My missionary team here says that even while Thailand suffered from the tsunami a few years back, the US was more able to receive news about it than Thailand.
Yet in the last week, we have been able to connect to the Myanmar people through a few visitors. A guest seminary professor from Yangoon, Myanmar, visited us this past week for some business purposes. Our team was able to hear about how the cyclone travels farther than a tsunami, going inland to the capital, lasting from 10pm one day until 3pm the next day. The members of his church at the capital, mostly have destroyed roofs and busted windows, but they hope to help with other needs farther south. We also had a visiting mission team of Cambodians worship with us yesterday, on their way to serve in Myanmar. We were able to pray together about the country and send off workers. One of our team did meet with some people from Myanmar this past week and was given encouraging news. The Christian church in Myanmar is doing the work of the Lord, both helping the suffering and telling people about the goodness of the Lord. Thank the Lord.
