Yesterday evening, our team got together to celebrate "The Day We Thank God" (translated literally in Thai). We all cooked up what we could find on this side of the world, which made for a very awesome meal. We sang some worship songs to God as well as thanked him for all he's done over the last year. And then we played, "Pin the Nose on the Turkey." Actually, it's like the red flappy thing hanging from its beak, called the Snood or something.
Favorite quote of the evening, sitting beside one of my Thai housemates, she asks, "Is this turkey?" as she eats her ham. Poor thing has never had either. We can't get turkey really here, but ham was a special entree for the special day.

Once I had my English students play pin-the-feather-on the turkey. Celebrating holidays far from "home" is always an adventure. Hope you had a fun day.
